You're invited to take a peek inside the artist studios at the Fitch Building during the West End Art Amble - Art Week 2019! This is an opportunity to meet artists in their work spaces and hear about their works directly. Many studios will have works for available purchase.
Artists Larassa Kabel and Stephanie Brunia have begun a new studio visit project called The Cream. They have been traveling around the state meeting artists in their work spaces, asking them about their practices, and photographing behind the scene. This has revealed the how's and why's of some of Iowa's most interesting artists. They will be launching their initiative on Tuesday June 25th at The Fitch Studios with some of those artists on hand to answer questions and holding a drawing for a piece of art.

Join artist Amy Putney Koenig. Come for a special viewing of my photos, paintings and collage pieces combined to create an installation I specifically designed to celebrate an end to our generational family trauma. These works look at the natural certainty of death, the art we make to cope and heal from our loss and the forgiveness required to move on and let go of the pain, sorrow, addiction and negativity that can go along with unexpected death.
My family was devastated over the loss of a child in 1968. This Viewing creation is an end to the tragedy and blame for all involved in her accident in order to give way to love, forgiveness, and exuberance. This is the final ritual of art in letting go of generational family trauma this event created. Come see and celebrate! View Facebook Event Page https://www.facebook.com/events/1515203708614676/
